Demographic Doomsaying spreads

The NYTimes of 09/04/06 reports that de-population is a most serious matter and gathering steam. Naturally, that at least partly wrong. They say birth and fertilty rates are "the lowest in the world" Periodically the Times gets things right. Not this time: I think the lowest rate is in South Korea, (officially a Less Develpoed Counttry ( ! ). I am proud to say they use the phrase birth dearth. That, I say with 99% conviction is my coinage. Another bid for immortality. BEN
