Sports have played an important role in geo-politics ("Ping-Pong diplomacy," "soccer wars.")
I'm watching the US play China tonight. At half-time it looks like a blow-out by America.
But the Chinese are very good.
One day soon I'd bet they will play as equals.
It's part of the upside of globalization.

The Chinese are very good at everything - especially FOCUS in education. They graduated 850,000 engineers in 2005. We, the USA, graduated about 85,000. We truly ought to keep an eye on this behemoth.
Yes, they are very good --- they even looked good while being blown away by the American basketball team last night.
But it is an authoritarian country that wants to Number One. I want America to be Number One.
