Clemente --- Maraniss

Read Clemente (?) by David Maraniss. The great Pittsburgh Pirate right-fielder, probably with the best throwing arm in base ball history, called himself "a double-Ni--ger" --- Latino and and black. But he overcame. He was killed when he was in a rickety plane flying in supplies to devastated Carribean city. Roberto Clemente was one of many sports figures (Jackie Robinson!) who changed sports and society.
