I tend to believe much of what the SwiftBoaters said about him in 2004.
How generous of you. Might it not be abvisable to critically examine the evidence, and perhaps the motives of the 'Swiftboaters', before deciding?
Ever hear of this: "The child is the father of the man?" That's why people value their reputations so much.
In any case, what may or may not have happened all those years ago does not discredit what Kerry says today.
No matter how much some people would like to believe it does.

Yes, and if you want to go with that, consider this: I don't know all the details about Bush's National Guard service, e.g. when he showed up and when he didn't, but I do know this -- one of the primary motivations, if not the primary motivation, for doing so was to avoid active duty in Viet Nam. Can there be any doubt about that? And that, IMO, is every bit as 'Swiftboat-ian' as whatever Kerry is accused of. Especially so in light of Bush's decision to invade Iraq, which has cost, by whatever reckoning, thousands upon thousands of people their lives, not to mention all of those maimed and crippled.
