The idea that there would be oil in Israel is old. It hasn't happened yet. Still ... we shall see.

The old saw had it: God Gave the Arbs oil and the Jews the Electoral College.

That is, American Jews tended to live in some very big swing states, winner take all under our Constituion: These included: New York (then a swinger), Illinois, Ohio, California, Florida etc.

Did candidates pander to thos voters and those interests.

Of course they did.

Just as they supported Greek-Americans over Turkey, or by proclaiming ring a "Captive Nations Week" to validate claims of Soviet conquest (valid.)
