We are a very rich country, in so many ways the richest ever. We should help the less fortunate
among us, except when they are counter-productive as AFDC (welfare) was for so long.
It took a while, but it was rescinded, and replaced with programs that gave more money to the those who really needed it, and less to the cheats --- which is at it should be.
