Gov. Ann Richards has died at 73. Hmnn... my age. She was quite a remarkable woman in many ways.

At the 2000 Democratic Convention she achieved fame by saying "George W. Bush was born on third base and thinks he hit a triple."

Maybe so.

But in next at-bat he rattled a double off the wall.

He has subsquently hit more than his share of round-trippers.
