Missing in Action...

Today's WashPost announced an underground 25,000 square foot visitor's center adjacent to Maya Lin's "V" --- which was once mocked as a "Wall of Shame", but has become a deserved national treasure. But missing on the map was Frederick Hart's more realistic "three soldiers" statue. Of course Hart was a conservative. He taught himself sculpture, and ended up doing beautiful statuary outside of the National Cathedral. Think Tank did a wonderful show with him at his estate in Virginia. He had a stroke that incapacitated his (?) right hand, so he learned to chisel with his left. Shortly afterwards he died --- still a young man. Today there are Hart clubs all over the country that collect his works and produce replicas.
