The Dems almost always poll more highly than the final results.
The new data on the economy, the misery index, the various equity and bond markets, the deficit --- are dynamite.
If the GOP holds both houses I'm willing to bet a dollar that the Dow hits 13,000 by the end of the year. I might ask for some odds.
The fine scenario might even happen if the Dems take over. It will be stasis, with President Bush and a "conservative" Supreme Court. Sooner or later they learn that inflation is the cruelist tax, that global trade is good etc.
That lets American Exceptionalism --- always our strongest suit --- play itself out.
