Bob Mathias --- his demise..
Bob Mathias won the 1948 Olympics decathalon. At age 17!
The youngest man ever to do it!
He became an all-American hero and starred in a movie The Bob Mathias Story
Later he served four terms as a Congressman from California.
He died in Fresno on 09/02/06. Of cancer.
Not a pleasant disease.
My super-doc says: "It's not whether you die; but how you die."
Makes sense.
