You can tell a book by it's title...

Some books should be read carefully. As a child, there were of some books I read over and over again. Sometimes I would laugh or cry over single paragraph.

Now I'd like to get the hang of speed reading.

And some books almost need not be read because their title tells it all:

There is a book called The Mask of Sanity. Most everyone I know is a little nutso.

At the American Enterprise Institute the marching song has been a dense book by a Southern conservative --- Richard Weaver --- entitled Ideas Have Consequences. And so they do.

Eric Severeid, the CBS commentator, one of Murrow's boys, and an author, wrote a stirring book entitled Not So Wild a Dream.

When Sen. Paul Tsongas resigned from the Senate after a bout with cancer he said, roughly: "I don't want to go to my grave not having spent enough time with my family."

A noble sentiment indeed.

But how many people go their graves saying "I wish I had gone for the main chance."

Trite but true: Life is about choices.
