Scanning...

I used to do some speaking and writing for the National Association of Food Marketers (?) now called more simply the Food Marketing Association.

Clancy Adamy was the Executive Director and fought a long and running battle with the super market chain stores to go to the new bar code scanining devices. It would save time and labor costs, and lower food prices, he said, quite correctly.

It wasn't so long ago...

Now there are bar codes and scanning devices and advertising on everything.

Industrial history is quite fascinating and tells us how the world works.
