One Doc vs. Another Doc
There are modern miracles of medicine. A drug for migraine headaches has been discovered --- and works --- for some people.
One doctor I know (MD/Pyschiatrist) says: Take an annual physical. He/she just discovered a major malady that was "discovered" in such an exam.
Another Doctor I know (MD/cardiologist) says he/she hasn't had a physical in 25 years, although he/she puts the stethoscope to his/his own ticker once in a while. If he/she feels a pain he goes to the doctor and says it hurts right --- here.
I like that one.
One very fine doctor I know wears a lab coat and always wants to do a CBC (Complete Blood Count {?} ). Another wears a sport shirt, wears no stethoscope, and says: What's wrong?
There is a poker player's mantra: Play the way you feel.
Sounds good to me.
If you crave watermelon, eat watermelon. I had some pulled Bar-B-Q pork today, for the time in about a decade. It was so very tasty, and I remembereed, of a sudden, exactly how it tasted. I want more of it --- right now.
In the American Southwest and South there Bar-B-Q joints compete for the tastiest blend. There must be a hundred varieties.
And what about the variety of species? How many kinds of butterfly are there? Butter-fly? That doesn't make any sense. But flutter-by does. That is the derivation of the word.
Marcel Proust in Remembrances of Things Past makes the point that the sense of taste, is a powerful human sense.
The were the salt routes, because salt is a preservative, and hence very important, and fought about.
But there was also the spice trade to fulfill primal urges of taste. They, too, were fought about.
People fight an kill each other; so do animals, although I don't think they kill their own kind.
