The huge MacArthur Foundation was the result of a huge bequest by the very wealthy Charles T. MacArthur. He was very conservervative.
As in so many other cases (The Ford Foundation, for one) it was "turned" by a liberal staff.
The "genius" grants are more often given to those of the Left, sometimes the very far Left. Rarely is a grant given to a "genius" who is even right-of center.
Not fair.
I won't grrr... because, as I understand it, anger is the most corrosive of human emotions.
