Bernard Schwartz the now-retired CEO of the Loral corporation (sattelite launching) has in recent years been the biggest supporter of my program Think Tank and its associated specials. He is very wealthy. He told me of of dinnertime conversation he had with Geroge Soros (a billionaire many times over) and Felix Rohayton (also wealthy.

Soros and Rohaytn said the economy was in a mess: Recession, deficits, the debt --- the usual. They saw catastrophe around the corner. Bernard, who knows a lot about economics, said we would work our way out it. I asked why there were such divergent oppinions. "They were born in Europe" he said, " I was born in America."

Or as Ronald Reagan used to say, "But we're Americans."
