Dean, Howard --- Dizzy, Daffy pitchers St.Louis Cardinals
Check out The Inside Agitator - New York Times
Chairman Howard Dean is not alone in apparently trying to destroy his own party.
That process has been in motion at least since the fury of the "liberal" mob was unleashed upon LBJ.
My once-beloved Democratic Pary goes Left, Lefter, Lefter-still. They keep promising to reform, and they don't.
The political world changed during the 1972 Democratic primaries, conventions, caucuses etc. Sen. George McGovern, a brave WWII B-24 pilot, said he would "crawl on his hands and knees" to beg Hanoi for peace. "
Americans --- about 98.6% of them --- don't like to beg, or to be beggared.
He lost to the brilliant-smarmy President Richard ("I am not a crook") M. Nixon. The count, as I recall it, yielded the greatest presidential landslide, ever.
I did a television program with McGovern and he said "I am not a McGovernite" i.e. the press was on his case, too much. Sound familiar?
