Mel Gibson

When James Baker was Secretary of State he allegedly said "f--k the Jews" in a meeting . There was a great anger among many American Jews. But the then-Prime Minister of Israel, said (roughly) "I've said the same thing myself."
I'd extend that courtesy to Mel Gibson who went into an anti-semitic screed when arrested while driving-under-the influence. He's a fine actor and director who has done some wonderful and patriotic films. He has abjetcly apologized to leaders of "the Jewish Community," and will seek both counseling for alcoholism and by meeting with Jews. That's OK with me.
