Labor Day

Labor Day is nigh upon us.

The old sarcastic tune goes this way:

The Workers flag is pale and pink,

A great improvement don't you think?

Not quite.

Markets work best.

But what's left of the US labor movement (which is too far left) keeps the market on it toes.

A child of mine, in the labor movement, has a bumper-sticker reading "Labor: The folks who gave you the weekend."

Over-stated? Perhaps.

But with some validity.
